RISEO Emergency Fuel Program: This state program offers emergency assistance to households that are experiencing an energy-related crisis. An application may be submitted if a household has not received heating assistance and their fuel tank is empty or near empty or if they are in danger of losing utility service.

The Good Neighbor Energy Fund is available to any Rhode Islander who, because of temporary financial difficulty, cannot meet a month's energy expense and has not qualified for or received other energy assistance funds.

Supported by donors throughout the state and matched each year up to $75,000 by the Catholic Charity Fund, “Keep the Heat On” has helped thousands of Rhode Islanders obtain heat or have their untility service restored.

Weatherization Assistance Program: The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) provides a comprehensive and technical energy audit on low/moderate income dwellings. As a result of this audit cost effective, energy efficient conservation measures are installed while ensuring the health and safety of people served. The program is delivered statewide by seven Community Action Programs (CAP). Those who qualify should contact the CAP that services their town.

This program is designed to increase the boiler/furnaces efficiency and to ensure the health and safety of the household occupants. Clients must be income eligible and pre-approved by their local Community Action Program (CAP Agency) in order to be applicable for this program.
